Core rules that apply to all Resident Evil (1996) runs:

General Rules

  • The run must start from the game’s main menu.
  • The final results screen shown after the credits must be included in the video, as it displays the final time and saves.
  • Certain advanced gameplay techniques (like quick shooting and pause cancel) are allowed.
  • On the PC version of the game, enabling options like “Quick Turn” and “Tactical Reload” is not allowed. Click here for more info.
  • If you are using the HD mod, make sure to delete the “bio1dc” folder. This folder changes camera angles and removes some enemies, which affects gameplay. Using these altered cameras will result in the run being rejected.
  • Cosmetic modifications (such as character skins) are allowed as long as they do not affect gameplay and do not include any inappropriate or explicit (NSFW) content.
  • Saving is only allowed using the game’s built-in save system. External tools or programs (such as trainers or debug menus) are not allowed. Save files may only be created in case of a crash, and only if the run is being streamed.
  • Runs that are not streamed must be completed in a single session, with no saves at all.
  • Major glitches are not allowed.
  • Going outside the intended playable area (“out of bounds”) is not allowed.

For detailed category rules, challenges, restrictions, and glitch policies, see the Rules tab.
